Tube Stuck

I had to run in a make a quick "picture post" just to share this image I snapped up real quick. Goldie decided to throw all her fluff into the tube and then got stuck behind the compacted fluff herself. I had to pull of a rescue mission and get her out of the tube-- but how could I resist snapping a couple pictures of her in the tube looking like such a doll? I couldn't!

Happy Memorial Day/Weekend everyone!

Long snail days

I feel like all my days have been so long, yet so short! It has been awhile since I even had time to type down anything in my blog. I am trying to come up with a good "promotional" schedule...ok I say trying to come up which implies I have been working on one-- I have not. I just started to think about it in the last day and even went so far as to remove links from my blog here that could send you to social type places that I rarely, if ever, use (such as flickr, tumblr, and kaboodle).

I work hard but I can be a procrastinator sometimes too so when it comes to spending time in each place I never end up doing what I plan on because I start to drift and get imbedded in the first place I head too (does that happen to you?).

I love getting to know other handmade artists so it is my mission this week to come up with a schedule so I can be in certain places on certain days and not spend 24 hours a day in only one spot (I'm like this snail just hanging out on one and only one limb-- haha). Wish me luck and I hope to see you soon!

PS. Did you know I offer free domestic shipping on all prints and photography gifts in my shop? Basically everything has free shipping except for the custom 1" promotional items! Be sure to stop by and check it out; it is like an automatic sale for you guys all the time.

A Hamster Story and a Vote

So, I have this love for hamsters. My first hamster, Hammie, was an amazing hamster. He only used my shirt as a restroom once, after he just got home, and he never bit me. I grew extremely attached to him and spoiled him; after an amazing 3 year stitch, he finally passed. I was in hysterics and swore I'd never get another one.

Well I have caved not just once but three times since. The second hamster, Snowball, she was cute and lasted slightly over a year only to die on my boyfriend's watch (though we knew it was coming) and he was so hurt by her death.

Nugget was purchased while Snowball was around and she's still going strong in her "mansion" of two cages and then, about two weeks ago, I added a new addition to my room: Goldie (as seen above).

Goldie was a complete "on the whim" buy when I went to get more bedding; the pet store clerk took her out and when I held her I just knew she was special and I could not leave without her. I am afraid because I am already attached to her kind of like how I was attached to Hammie which will make her passing very painful, but she is such a doll and incredibly cute-- I could not resist. She has yet to bite me (unlike the other two) or pee on me (unlike the other two) and she is pretty calm which makes her fun to hold and watch.

Anyways, so she managed to escape the cage she was in after only a few days, and me and my family went crazy turning the house upside down in pursuit of her furry behind. We enlisted our pointer dog to help smell for her and he kept going back to my room so we knew she had to be in there. I finally gave up looking and started talking to my boyfriend about the situation and that was when I started to hear a loud chewing noise nearby. Somehow, she managed to fall behind the shelf the cages are on, get stuck, and was in the process of chewing her way out. The wall buffer is now missing a few huge chunks but shes safe, and secure, in a new two story cage and I am so happy she is back.

I won, I won, & check out some finished orders

I mentioned before that I was working on some button orders and I got to make a few really great sets of buttons (as I love to do). It is always fun learning little bits about your customers, like the one above is for a customer that makes beautiful jewelry (check it out here). The buttons below (as you can tell) were made for an ice-skating event and I think that is so cool (thanks Precious)!

On another note, I was super excited to find out that I was chosen as the winner in a giveaway for scrap-booking software (My Memories Suite); I picked to get a physical version (I love having CDs of software) so I can't wait to get it and try it out!

Thanks so much to Crystal Gale Photography; be sure to stop by her blog here and find a coupon to get a whopping $10 off of the My Memories Suite program! :)

Orders, a feature, and the dentist

Stopping by to say hello and give you a few little details about what is going on currently:

  • 1. I am excited to be working on my "first" button orders from this shop. Actually, I have a few projects in route: one is near completion and was fun to do, one will have graphics coming later, and one I am starting to figure out something cute image wise (I will hopefully have pictures of at least one)!
  • 2. I got featured this week over on the Promoting Creative Friends blog:

  • 3. I have a few days of dental work starting tomorrow. I love my dentist but I hate the dentist so it is one of those weird things that you look forward to saying hi, but you don't look forward to getting shots in your gums.
P.S. Click here for great article on keeping your jewelry cleaned (brought to you by The Promotional Frenzy Team).

Here is a cool treasury I was in (did you know you can add your treasuries here for free exposure?):
